Accelerus Web is the recommended method for teachers to enter their class results, as well as view student profiles and results. In addition, when schools have an Accelerus Goals Management System licence, all of the administration of Goal Plans and all work on student goals is undertaken via a web browser.
These instructions allow a school to set up the prerequisites for and install Accelerus Web, for class and student result entry and goals management.

•It is expected that the school has the appropriate permissions for and knowledge of their server and network configuration, and the necessary expertise to set up and manage a web hosting environment. •The school must be running Accelerus with an SQL Server database, and not an Access-type database. •The SQL Server must be one of 2008, 2008R2, 2012 or 2014 versions. SQL Server 2005 is not supported. •The school must have a web server using Windows Server 2012, 2012R2, 2008 or 2008R2. Windows Server 2003 is not supported. |
Before you begin, you must know the following: •The version of the SQL Server which should be one of versions 2008, 2008R2, 2012 or 2014. •The name of the SQL Server being used. •The name of the Accelerus database on the SQL Server. •Whether SQL Authentication or Windows Authentication is to be used to log into the Accelerus SQL database. If using SQL authentication, the user name and password for the SQL Server must be known. •The version of Windows Server installed at the school. This will determine the version of Internet Information Services (IIS) to be installed: ➢Windows 2012 - IIS8 ➢Windows 2012R2 - IIS8.5 ➢Windows 2008 - IIS7 ➢Windows 2008R2 - IIS7.5 •Whether the Accelerus Web site is to be at the root level of the website or contained in a sub folder. This determines the URL to access the website, eg reports.school.edu.au compared to school.edu.au/reports. Typically, where a school is already hosting a website, they will use the latter approach. •Whether IIS is on the same server as the Accelerus SQL Server database.

In addition: •You will need to ensure that users' computers have one of the following web browsers: Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer 10 or above.
•It is preferable that the Accelerus web site is not hosted on the same server as an Exchange Server OWA (Outlook Web Access) instance or a WSUS (Windows Server Update Services) server. •Your Windows server must have .NET 4 Framework installed which may be downloaded by clicking here. |
